[Fuzhou Evening News] The launching ceremony of the ASEAN-China Gourmet Carnival and the ASEAN Film Week was held in Fuzhou on August 6.
The ASEAN-China Gourmet Carnival, where such distinctive Fujian cuisines as Fuzhou Fish Ball and Shrimp with Lees were promoted, was aimed at disseminating Fujian cuisine culture among Chinese and foreign guests, helping the Fujian Cuisine “go overseas” and assisting Fuzhou in building a world “city of gastronomy”. Furthermore, guests watched promotional videos on the Fujian Cuisine such as Chen Yu Luo Yan and Hi, Da Min Zui to have a glimpse of the time-honored history and inheritance of Fuzhou cooking culture.
Trailers of six films, including An Indonesian film Trinity, The Nekad Traveler and a Thai film Final Score, were also played in the ceremony. Every film tells a wonderful story and showcases natural scenery of the ASEAN member states.
“Films are unique in that they can go beyond national boundaries, languages and cultural backgrounds. The film week is not only a great event for narration art, but also a golden opportunity for enhancing mutual understandings and cooperation between China and the ASEAN member states.” said Djauhari Oratmangun, ambassador of Indonesia in China.
