GUANGZHOU -- The third Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) cultural and arts festival is expected to put traditional Chinese culture to the fore with an array of dazzling folk opera performances, fascinating martial arts show and Chinese folk music concerts.
On Tuesday evening, the launch ceremony of the cultural and arts festival, which was held at Guangdong Friendship Theater in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou, offered Chinese opera lovers an audiovisual feast, with distinguished opera artists and troupes in major Chinese opera genres presenting spectacular performances at the grand event.
Co-sponsored by the People's Government of Guangdong Province, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions, this year's cultural and arts festival aims to promote the cultural construction and integrate cultural tourism resources in the GBA.
During the event, a series of splendid activities, covering stage art performances, ethnic music concerts, art exhibitions and art innovation forums, will also be launched in various cities within the GBA, to bring an immersive artistic experience to the audience.
This year, the event opened on sept. 12 and will run through Oct. 11.
