Qingdao recently released 15 municipal level practical projects for 2024, covering multiple basic livelihood areas such as employment, education, medical care, elderly care, housing, transport, recreation and sports, and security, in an attempt to make people’s happiness in livelihoods more tangible regarding urban and rural construction as well as improvement in living conditions.

The 15 municipal level practical projects comprise creating new jobs in urban areas, support entrepreneurship, setting up new public-service job positions and building new elementary and secondary schools and kindergartens, renovating dilapidated kindergartens in rural areas, building AI labs in elementary and secondary schools, promoting the nursery and kindergarten integration, improving contracted family doctor services, enhancing the coverage of medical insurance and facilitating the opening and operation of new metro lines, increasing parking spaces, putting up charging piles for electric vehicles, establishing express delivery and logistics systems in rural areas and launching the construction of horticultural parks, pursuing micro renovations in urban room, renovation of old urban residential communities, conducting energy conservation and insulation programs, promoting clean heating in rural areas, promoting renovation of water supply and sewage treatment in rural areas, building new national physique monitoring stations, building outstanding procedure-based farm produce markets and adding automated external defibrillators (AEDs), building fire stations in cities and towns and caring about people with difficulties in finding jobs and the disabled, meal services for elderly and barrier-free renovations for families with severely disabled people.

Qingdao Municipal Government will impose target-oriented responsibility system on the implementation of the municipal level practical projects for 2024, and ask all sectors of society to join field supervision and evaluation. (Liu Ping/Yu Bo)
