The first representative assembly of the Qingdao Western Returned Scholars Association (Overseas-educated Scholars Association of Qingdao) was recently held. The Qingdao Western Returned Scholars Association will urge overseas-educated scholars to inherit the fine tradition of serving the motherland, concern themselves with national affairs and shoulder national responsibilities. Guided by the “three orientations”, the association brings into play its role as a talent pool, a think tank and a new force. It will work hard to guide and support returnees in dedicating themselves to central tasks in Qingdao, and becoming pacesetters in achieving technological self-reliance, promoters of high-quality development and facilitators of external exchanges and communication.
