The gentle breeze of early spring breathes life into the plum blossoms surrounding Slender West Lake in Yangzhou City, nestled in east China's Jiangsu Province.
Quietly blooming, the plum blossoms along Slender West Lake, renowned as one of Jiangsu's top three destinations for appreciating plum blossoms, offer visitors the pleasure of spring with their exquisite fragrance permeating the air. From an aerial view, the plum blossom park is a sight to behold, adorned with various types, each vying for attention with its pinkish-white or greenish-white hues.
According to staff, the plum blossoms extend over a vast area, spanning approximately 200,000 square meters. Currently, these elegant flowers are at their peak, with about 70 percent of the plum blossoms in full bloom.
This year, more than 60 varieties of plum blossoms have been planted in the forest along Slender West Lake, each boasting its own blooming period. The early-blooming varieties add a burst of color to the onset of spring.
Local authorities have held a range of activities, from dance performances to Guzheng (Chinese zither) recitals and fairs showcasing intangible cultural heritage. These events helped residents and tourists appreciate the plum blossoms.
