Surveillance cameras recently recorded footage of a wild giant panda visiting the courtyard of a rural residence in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
In the footage captured at a villager's home in Baoxing County, Ya'an City, the panda, which has a robust build, was seen wandering into the vegetable garden, apparently in search of food. It then casually strolled into the courtyard, walked around the place, and finally settled at a spot to linger about and enjoy its food.
The uninvited guest departed gracefully after spending about one hour and a half at the courtyard.
Data show that the population of wild giant pandas in Baoxing County has risen to 181 from 143 in recent years, thanks to intensified conservation efforts aimed at preserving the animal's natural habitat and ensuring the survival of this species.
