QINGDAO – Many villages in Qingdao have benefited from the simultaneous development of agriculture and culture-rich tourism by leveraging their adjacency to big cities in the process of exploring fresh dynamics for rural revitalization.
In suburban Qingdao City of east China's Shandong Province, the Dalao Cherry Valley, adorned with blooming white and pink cherry blossoms, has attracted tourists to bask in the vibrant spirit of spring. It spans over 730 hectares, featuring over 550,000 cherry trees of over 20 varieties.
"It makes me feel refreshing and joyous. The weather is so good and I feel very comfortable just looking at it," said a tourist.
The local authorities combine diverse resources to provide the tourists with leisure and ease. Last year, over 200,000 visitors flocked here to immerse themselves in the floral splendor, generating a direct tourism revenue of nearly 20 million yuan (around 2.8 million U.S. dollars). This injection of income has infused fresh vitality into the holistic revitalization of the countryside.
