On February 4, Qingdao convened a conference to commend the city’s 2022 excellent entrepreneurs. A total of 42 entrepreneurs were awarded.

Since the Methods of Selection and Award for Qingdao Excellent Entrepreneurs was unveiled last September, this is the first batch of Qingdao excellent entrepreneurs. As stipulated in the Methods, Qingdao excellent entrepreneurs are selected every five years, including two “Qingdao Outstanding Entrepreneurs”, 10 “Qingdao Industry-leading Entrepreneurs” and 30 “Qingdao Excellent Entrepreneurs”. Among the first batch of 2022, the award of “Qingdao Outstanding Entrepreneur” went to Zhou Yunjie, board chairman and CEO of Haier Group, and Huang Kexing, president of Tsingtao Beer Group.

   According to the Methods, outstanding entrepreneurs, industry-leading entrepreneurs and excellent entrepreneurs are each awarded RMB2mln, RMB1mln and RMB500,000 respectively. The award is disbursed from Qingdao municipal finance and remitted to prize-winners’ personal bank accounts. Furthermore, the “service card for Qingdao entrepreneurs” is conferred on all title winners so that they can enjoy preferential treatment in terms of medical care, transportation and children’s education.  (Sun Xin)
