Night economy thrives amid summer tourism heat across China 发布日期:2024/8/1 来源:International Daily 打印

The colorful night economy is thriving in various Chinese cities, all showcasing the lively summer night consumption with the summer tourist season in full swing.

Summer is the prime time for the night economy. As the cool evening breeze sweeps through, tourists enjoy leisurely strolling and eating amid the vibrant atmosphere of exhilarating summer nights.

In Linping Distrcit of Hangzhou City, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province, the "Borderless Night Market" becomes a bustling hub as night falls, attracting visitors from far and wide.

"I have just walked around a few circles, I feel it is really great. There are so many things for me to eat. I'm so happy and this is the heaven for me," said a tourist.

"I'm from the USA, the atmosphere of this place is very nice, a lot of food, a lot of people and a lot of drinks, that means a good time," said a foreign tourist.

"Today it's the two of us here, if we go home, we will tell other friends to come by because this is a fun place," said another U.S. tourist.

"Every day our kebabs are basically sold out, some tourists even fly from Chongqing to come here to taste our food," said a skew-shabu stall owner.

In Haikou, capital of China's southern province of Hainan, also a coastal city, the newly launched sightseeing cruise "Meilan-1" has become a highlight this summer.

This cruise ship, with three decks,  is introduced by Haikou to create new cultural tourism consumption scenarios on water and can accommodate 160 passengers per trip.

Since last year, Haikou has also introduced several new cultural commercial streets.

One such street, Gaoxingli Cultural Commercial Street, opened in December last year and has since attracted 17 trendy brand stores and hosted nearly 100 folk culture and street performance events.

"I think there is a very thick atmosphere for starting up businesses, and there are so many youngsters here. This perfectly fits our profile," said Zhang Lewang, a store owner.

"Every day at noon and in the evening, we basically have a full house, which would last until nine or ten o'clock in the evening," said Qin Qin, head of another fashion store.

"The overall feeling is great, and it is quite young," said Wang Jing, a diner.

In recent years, Haikou has issued special consumption vouchers totaling 8.7 million yuan and distributed 100,000 yuan worth of vouchers to residents to promote the development of commercial complexes and shopping streets.
