An opportunistic young giant panda was spotted cheekily swooping in to steal a bamboo shoot from its mild-mannered mom as the three-member family enjoyed meal time at their home in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
The recently filmed footage, released by the iPanda channel, shows the trio munching down on their beloved bamboo, before one of youngsters decides it liked the look of the particular piece of food in its mother's hands.
The daring panda then launches an audacious bid to prise it away from it's seemingly calm mom, with the shoot being split in half. Luckily for the cheeky bear, the mother seemed not too fussed about this naughty act, as she carried on eating nonchalantly.
The panda family includes the mom Yan Hui, who was born in Sept 2016, and her boy-girl twins: Pang Yuan and Xiao Bao, who were born in August 2022 at the Bifengxia Base of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP) in Ya'an City.
The CCRCGP is a world-leading institution dedicated to breeding and conserving one of China's national treasures, the giant panda. The center has also established a global platform for promoting international cooperation and exchanges involving 18 zoos from 16 countries and regions, 39 domestic animal breeding institutions, and over 10 scientific research institutes.
