Large flocks of migratory birds packed the sky over the drifting ice floes of the Yellow River, giving rise to breathtaking views in east China's Shandong Province.
The phenomenon appeared in Dongying City, a coastal stopover point for these feathered travelers.
Ice floes have been observed on the river since Feb 7, extending over 400 kilometers from Tai'an City to the river's mouth, with the densest appearing in Dongying.
With temperatures rising and ice melting in recent days, a picturesque scene has emerged as birds pause to rest on the floating ice before once again flapping their wings.
