HEZE -- ???????A special flower-viewing train departed from Qingdao in east China's Shandong on Monday, taking passengers to the province's Heze city, known as the "peony capital of China", to enjoy the splendor of these flourished flowers.
A total of two special flower-viewing train routes connecting eight cities within the province, including Jinan and Qingdao, have been launched ahead of the month-long 2025 Heze International Peony Cultural Tourism Festival which officially opened on Tuesday.
"The special train will operate for 32 days from April 7 to May 8," said Xu Wenjing, deputy director of Qingdao North Railway Station.
On the train, peony elements can be seen throughout the carriages, from traditional Chinese paper-cuttings and dough figurines to various cultural products.
Notably, to provide passengers with an immersive experience, the train's dining bar has been transformed into a peony-themed space. Peony-based productions including tea and seed oil are also provided here.
Meanwhile, a total of 38 peony-themed buses are now operating in Heze to showcase city's rich peony heritage.
