On March 5, Qingdao International Airport Group and its Shenzhen peer signed a strategic cooperation agreement on hub co-construction, aimed at facilitating fulfillment of national strategies and injecting new growth drivers for high-quality development of the two sides. At present, as many as 80 flights a week fly between Qingdao and Shenzhen, 5% up from pre-pandemic levels. The flight transfer program, which enables passengers in Shenzhen to arrive at northeast China via Qingdao, has become a demonstration route in the linkage of the southbound hub and the northbound one.

On February 17, Qingdao International Airport Group, Xinjiang Airport Group, Xinjiang Branch of China Southern Airlines and Qingdao Airlines have signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Qingdao-Xinjiang “dual-hub” airports and air traffic between Northeast Asia and Central and West Asia, in the sub-forum of industrial internet, “China + five central Asian countries” forum on industry and investment cooperation, which was held in Qingdao. Qingdao International Airport Group and its Xinjiang peer will work together for passenger and cargo routes leading to the SCO member states, and resume faster and increase flights and routes to Japan and South Korea.  (Zhou Jianliang)
