Qingdao United General Aviation Co., Ltd., affiliated with Huatong Group, recently handed over a “Qingdao-made” H135 helicopter to the PT Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park. The hand-over has set three precedents. It marks the first time that the “Qingdao-made” Airbus H135 helicopter has been sold outside China, conferred the model certificate by Indonesian authorities and granted with the export certificate of airworthiness by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

The Airbus H135 helicopter, a 3-ton light-twin helicopter with outstanding performance, is widely used in medical rescue, police affairs and other fields. Previously, the helicopter has never been applied in Indonesia. United General Aviation has set up a project team and fostered a synergy among all parties involved to tackle thorny problems one after another, paving a solid foundation for the final completion of the project.

As the first Airbus helicopter H135 general assembly line outside Europe, the assembly line in Qingdao was put into production in 2019. The hand-over to Indonesia has marked a major breakthrough in “Qingdao-made” H135 helicopter going global.  (Zhou Xiaofeng)
