The ongoing 54th Chengdu international panda lantern fair brings a visual feast integrated with high-tech and traditional culture to tourists in Chengdu City of southwest China's Sichuan Province.

Held from Jan 22 to March 9, the lantern fair lit up the night at Jiangtan Park in Chengdu City. Visitors can admire dazzling light displays and explore digital entertainment.

"I feel a strong cultural atmosphere. The vibe this year is quite good," said a tourist.

The lantern fair also utilized 3D light animation and water curtain projection technology, allowing visitors to interact with the art installations.

"We have introduced a dynamic interpretation of light and shadow art to the traditional static display of intangible cultural heritage lantern festivals. Some people said online that it feels like a time tunnel, where we can have a drink with the ancients and experience the changes of history through interacting with the images. I believe such exploration is worth studying in depth," said Ma Juncheng, dean of School of urban design of Central Academy of Fine Arts.

This year's lantern show also introduced 72 special cultural and creative shops, restaurants, and digital entertainment businesses, enriching tourists' consumption choices.

"It's pretty good and lively. The Jiangtan Park is already very popular, and this area energizes people's emotions through the surrounding economy, which is very uplifting for everyone," said another visitor.

The lantern fair is expected to attract 600,000 tourists and drive surrounding consumption to 250 million yuan (about 34.48 million U.S. dollars).
