A direct passenger flight route connecting east China's Nanjing City and Jakarta, the Indonesian capital, opened on Saturday.
The Nanjing Lukou International Airport welcomed the inaugural flight with a water salute, the highest etiquette in civil aviation, on the day.

The route is operated by Xiamen Airlines, with one flight each on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Travel on the air route takes only about six and a half hours.
