Spectacular cluster of waterfalls in northern China draws tourists 2026/10/17 source: International Daily Print

The surging Yellow River water cascades down, creating a magnificent landscape of waterfall cluster in Linfen City of north China's Shanxi Province, which draws a large number of tourists.

Driven by upstream reservoir discharges and sediment transport from the middle and upper reaches, the water volume at the Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River recently surged to1,400 cubic meters per second.

Aerial views show the Yellow River, spanning more than 300 meters wide upstream of Hukou Waterfall, narrows abruptly at the Linfen section. The rushing water plunges over a drop, crashing against the riverbed and kicking up mist that forms a stunning rainbow in the sunlight.
