The most romantic Lingnan folk custom in Chaozhou

NewYearinLingnan With the gong music playing in the background and lanterns shining high above the sugarcane, a traditional folk cultural activity titled "Sugarcane Lane" was held in Xikou village, Xiangqiao district, Chaozhou city on February 6.

The activity featured a traditional but colorful parade made up of local villagers. Wherever the parade went, the long-awaited villagers holding the "cane lanterns" consciously retreated into two rows and lifted the lamps in their hands, forming an imaginary passage in the sugarcane forest to help the parade pass through "Cane Lane".

Walking in the cane lane was very spectacular, with the candlestick in the starry sky, making it the most romantic folk custom in the Chaoshan area.

锣乐齐鸣，蔗灯高照……2月6日，潮州市湘桥区溪口村举办传统民俗文化活动“穿蔗巷”。

巡游队伍所到之处，撑着“蔗灯”、等候已久的村民会自觉退列成两排，将手中的蔗灯高高举起，有如甘蔗林里蔗与蔗之间的通道，让巡游队伍从“蔗巷”穿过。

蔗巷漫步，美人摇曳，男儿健步，配衬点点烛火如入皎皎星空，如梦似幻，因而也有人称其为潮汕地区最浪漫的“闹热”。
