A golden baby Francois' leaf monkey meets Guangzhou citizens

Can Francois' leaf monkeyshave only black hair? Certainly not. The cubs of the incredibly rare monkeys are"golden" until they are half a year old!

On February 11, at Guangzhou Chimelong Safari Park, more than ten groups of parents and children participated in an interesting popular science event: recording the hair discoloration of the littleFrancois' leaf monkey. During the event, a golden cub named "Three Years" met the participants.

The popular science teacher introduced the living habits ofFrancois' leaf monkeysto the children. The newbornFrancois' leaf monkeysare golden except for a few parts of their body. After a month, their hair gradually turns gray, and then after around six months, it will turn completely black, becoming a true blackFrancois' leaf monkey.

黑叶猴毛发只能是黑色的吗？非也。幼崽半岁前是“金毛”！2月11日，在广州长隆野生动物世界，十多组亲子家庭参与一场趣味盎然的科普活动：最潮“黑金”天然无柒——黑叶猴的毛发变色记录活动。黑叶猴幼崽“三年”与游客见面。科普老师为孩子们讲解黑叶猴的生活习性，“刚出生的黑叶猴幼仔除了个别部位，基本上均呈金黄色。1个月后会开始逐渐变灰，6个月左右会完全变成黑色，成为一只‘名副其实’的黑叶猴。”
