On January 14th and 15th, the third session of 13th Guangdong Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the third session of the 14th Provincial People's Congress opened successively.Wang Weizhong, the Governor of Guangdong Province, delivered a government work report, releasing the economic data for Guangdong in 2024 and settingtargets for 2025.

Guangdong's GDP is expected to reach 14 trillion yuan in 2024, ranking first in the country for 36 consecutive years. Guangdong’s total import and export volume has exceeded 9 trillion yuan, an increase of 9.8%.

Guangdong's regional innovation capacity has ranked first in China for 8 consecutive years. The R&D expenditure of Guangdong reached about 510 billion yuan in 2024, accounting for 3.6% of Guangdong's GDP.
