Pantang Five Rarities, Xiguan Ladies, and Flower Fairies Take the Stage at Liwan’s Traditional Folk Carnival Celebrating the San Yue San Festival
City Life | On March 31st, which falls on the third day of the third lunar month, there is a tradition in Pantang Village, Liwan District, Guangzhou, to celebrate the birthday of Beidi. A much-loved folk parade by both local residents and tourists took place, with 15 parade phalanxes making their appearances one by one.The ‘giant versions’ of the Pantang Five Rarities—water chestnut, lotus root, wild rice stem and water caltrop, shuttled through the streets and alleys. Cantonese opera and music, Xiguan ladies, flower fairies, puppet shows, qilin dances and popular anime IP characters took turns to appear. The mascots of the 15th National Games and Liwan's sports athletes made a special guest appearance.

3月31日,农历三月初三,广州荔湾泮塘村有庆祝北帝诞的习俗,祈愿风调雨顺、国泰民安。深受市民游客喜爱的民俗巡游上演,15个巡游方阵逐一亮相。“巨型版”的泮塘五秀——马蹄、莲藕、茭白、慈姑、菱角在街巷中穿梭;粤剧粤曲、西关小姐、花仙子、木偶剧、麒麟舞等广府元素和热门动漫IP角色轮番登场;十五运会吉祥物和荔湾运动健儿作为特别嘉宾亮相
