City Life | On the afternoon of February 2, guests from the first 2026 APEC Senior Officials Meeting were attracted by a robot-run retail counter during their visit to Guangzhou’s Haixinsha Full-Space Intelligent Experience Center. A smart robotic sales assistant, developed locally, can retrieve items from the shelves upon command and deliver them to the customers. Many guests took out their phones, scanned QR codes, and made purchases on the spot, enjoying their first experience with the robot. Gianpiero Antonazzo from the World Bank Group happily showed off a robot assembly toy set he had bought. "My daughter loves building toys," he said. "She's going to love this."#citylife
