Art and Culture | During the 2026 spring performance season, Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Theatre traveled to rural stages across western Guangdong with new cast pairings and productions. Two new duos—Li Jiayi with Li Weicong, and Wu Feifan with Chen Zhenjiang—made their debut appearances, performing The Legend of the Purple Hairpin, The Legendary Love Story of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang and Yang Guifei, and The Story of Burning Incense, receiving enthusiastic responses from opera fans. The large-scale newly adapted Cantonese opera Princess Wencheng was also presented in a “rural edition,” featuring the original renowned cast while maintaining full production standards. From village squares to countryside stages, every performance drew full audiences. The spring season serves not only as the theatre’s annual benchmark, but also as an important platform for performers to reconnect with the cultural roots of the genre and strengthen the bond between long-time and new audiences.

2026年春班，广州粤剧院以新组合、新剧目奔赴粤西乡村舞台。李嘉宜+李伟骢、吴非凡+陈振江两对新搭档首次亮相，《紫钗记》《唐明皇与杨贵妃》《焚香记》等轮番上演，赢得戏迷热烈反响。大型新编粤剧《文成公主》也以“乡村版”登场，名家原班阵容参演，舞美呈现毫不降格。 从村头广场到乡野戏台，场场观众爆满，台上倾情演绎，台下掌声雷动。春班既是院团年度“大考”，也是演员回归剧种生长土壤的重要舞台，更是连接新老戏迷的情感纽带。
