On June 2, firecrackers burst along the riverbank in Xinjiao Community, Daliang Subdistrict, Foshan. Eighteen dragon boat paddlers, dressed in uniforms, stepped barefoot into the river mud to awaken an "old dragon" — a dragon boat with over 80 years of history. They scraped off the mud covering the hull, pushed the boat into deeper water, and then carefully washed it. After the boat is completely dry the next day, it will undergo oiling, getting fully ready for the dragon boat parades and visiting rituals half a month later.

6月2日，大良新滘社区的河涌边鞭炮齐鸣。18位身着统一服装的龙舟“划手”赤足踏入河泥中，合力唤醒一条有着80余年历史的“老龙”——刨开覆盖船身的淤泥，再将龙舟推至河道深处，随后仔细清洗船身。待次日船身完全晾干后，还将进行专业的涂油保养，为半个月后的 “趁景”“招景” 巡游做好万全准备。
