City Life | China’s first thermal-coupled system for producing hydrogen from seawater and recovering strategic elements has operated continuously for more than 1,000 hours in Rizhao, Shandong Province. Jointly developed by China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN), the Laoshan Laboratory and Shandong Normal University, the facility has overcome a major global technological challenge in producing hydrogen from seawater while recovering strategic marine elements. By drawing in seawater and utilizing waste heat, the facility produces hydrogen, freshwater and strategic elements without consuming a single drop of freshwater. It can produce 30 standard cubic meters of high-purity hydrogen per hour and reduce carbon emissions by approximately 460 tonnes annually, offering a viable solution for the low-cost, large-scale development of green hydrogen from the ocean. #citylife

我国首台套热耦合海水制氢联产装置在山东日照稳定运行超过1000小时，由中广核、崂山实验室、山东师范大学联合研发，攻克了海水制氢与海洋战略元素协同联产的全球性技术难题。该装置通过抽进海水、化掉余热，产出氢气、淡水和战略元素，全程不耗一滴淡水，每小时产高纯氢气30标准立方米，年减碳约460吨，为低成本、规模化开发海洋绿氢提供了可行方案。
