China announced the scheduling of the third Global Digital Trade Expo from Sept 25-29, 2024, at the conclusion of the second expo in Hangzhou, east China’s Zhejiang Province and set the last week of every September as the fixed date for the annual event.

The expo, themed "Digital Trade, Global Access", attracted 68 international organizations and business associations, as well as over 800 enterprises, displaying the full supply chain of digital trade, with themes ranging from frontier technologies to global companies and Silk Road e-commerce.

More than 100 cutting-edge products and digital trade-related services made their debuts at the expo, such as large models and intelligent manufacturing.

A number of business matchmaking events, forums, conferences and other supporting activities were also held during the expo, with Chinese and foreign merchants agreeing to work on a series of cooperation projects in the fields of digital technology, digital manufacturing and digital services.

"The Digital Trade Expo is now a wind vane for global digital trade. Next, we will continually promote representative products and expand it into a larger platform for public products, fostering development, mutual sharing, and win-win cooperation to contribute to the recovery of the world economy," said Wang Pengfei, deputy head at the Department of Electronic Commerce and Information under the Ministry of Commerce.
