Business leaders from dozens of French and Chinese companies convened in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, or Beijing E-Town on Sunday to discuss co-investment opportunities in transformative industry sectors.
The meetings were part of the China-France Industrial and Cultural Week, which launched in the Chinese capital on the same day.
Discussions stressed that with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-French diplomatic relations, collaboration between the two nations in "future industry" such as AI, biotechnology, new energy, and intelligent manufacturing is poised to deepen further.
Delegates of several major French multinational firms, including Schneider Electric, highlighted the great potential of China-France cooperation in these fields, underscoring that China's innovation ecosystem and talent environment can act as crucial safeguards for companies seeking new technology development.
"We currently have 23 factories in China, with over 1,600 suppliers. Many of them have the ability to apply special, sophisticated techniques to produce unique and novel products," said Zheng Zhisong, general manager of Schneider (Beijing) Medium and Low Voltage.
Mindray, based in Shenzhen City of south China's Guangdong Province, is one of the leading global providers of medical devices and solutions. They started to explore the French market over 15 years ago.
The biomedical electronics company has partnered with local insurance firms to deploy life-saving devices throughout Paris, enhancing the city's ability to respond to medical emergencies such as arrhythmia.
"We entered the French market in 2008. We have installed numerous automated external defibrillators on the streets of Paris. We see France as a central hub for marketing for the entire European region," said Zhu Lisong, international public affairs manager of Shenzhen Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics.
