AI-powered robots showcasing various skills are the major attractions at the ongoing 27th China Beijing International High-tech Expo in Beijing.
Themed "Science and Technology for A Better Future," the expo is held from May 8 to 11, featuring over 800 technology companies and institutions from home and abroad.
Driven by rapid advancement in embodied intelligence, China's humanoid robots are evolving at an accelerated pace, extending their reach into both industrial and household applications.
A strength-boosting exoskeleton robot became the star attraction at the expo. The wearable device features robotic claws that significantly enhance the user's physical power, demonstrating practical applications in industrial and living fields.
"It has two main functions. One is to assist the elderly and those with mobility issues, making walking easier when wearing it. The other is its function for moving objects," said Xu Guoqiang, senior engineer, NO.208 Research Institute of China Ordnance Industries.
The exhibition floor also featured diverse robotic demonstrations, including agile robotic arms for industrial applications and companion robots performing Tai Chi. These exhibits vividly showcased practical implementations across manufacturing, education, and other sectors.
The expo boasts a strong international presence with over 120 companies from more than 30 countries and regions. Making up about 15 percent of the total, these global exhibitors turn the event into a showcase of high-tech innovation from around the world.
