Fuzhou Today
The GIAHS China National Tea-related Agricultural Heritage Alliance Secretariat was founded in Fuzhou, China on the morning of February 12, marking a new phase for Fuzhou’s jasmine tea industry to embrace high-quality development.
Tea culture is a symbolic kind of traditional Chinese culture. Jasmine tea culture, Fuzhou’s most prestigious traditional culture on the international arena, can best represent Fuzhou’s maritime culture and marine silk road culture and underpin Fuzhou’s efforts to accelerate the building of a modern international city.
Boasting a time-honored history of tea culture, Fuzhou is one of the places where jasmine tea originated, and was once known as the world’s largest tea trading port. Thriving tea trade has put Fuzhou in the global spotlight and helped Fuzhou earn a reputation as “the world’s tea trading port”.
