On February 21, the Fuzhou Liangcuo featured historical and cultural block was immersed in tea fragrance and filled up with laughter, where an intangible cultural heritage experiencing event on Fujian jasmine tea was held to celebrate the Chinese New Year. 100 families saw first-hand Fuzhou jasmine tea scenting process, and celebrated the Chinese New Year amid tea fragrance, the inheritance of the traditional tea making skill and heart-touching parent-child interactions.
In the event, a representative inheritor of Fujian provincial level intangible cultural heritage showed the process of making Fuzhou jasmine tea, including jasmine flower sifting, scenting and fragrance enhancing, and instructed the 100 families to experience jasmine tea scenting in a brief way.
In the tea-serving ceremony, children offered their parents well-brewed jasmine tea in both hands and said “dear dad, please enjoy the tea” or “respectable mom, you work too hard”. Amid parent-child interactions, tea fragrance and filial piety are in perfect harmony, and intangible cultural heritage and family tradition co-exist.
