Qingdao recently proposed building the Qingdao International Automobile City by drawing on the experience of leading automobile industry clusters at home and abroad in Stuttgart, Shanghai and Chengdu.
With a total planned area of 212 square kilometers, the Qingdao International Automobile City consists of the Jimo area and the Laixi area.
The two areas in Jimo and Laixi, which constitute the Qingdao International Automobile City, are the most advanced industrial cluster areas in Qingdao. In terms of the industry scale, by 2025, the operating revenue will reach RMB200bln and the output of finished vehicles will hit 1.3 million units; by 2030, the two figures will be over RMB350bln and 1.6 million units; by 2035, the two figures will increase to RMB500bn and 2 million units.
