Qingdao passes green travel evaluation 2023/2/3 source: International daily Print

The Ministry of Transport and the National Development and Reform Commission of the PRC recently unveiled the list of cities that have passed the green travel evaluation. A total of 97 cities have fulfilled the campaign, including Beijing and Qingdao.

After three years of efforts starting from 2020, Qingdao has realized all the pre-set targets in the main, including a 71.3% ratio of green travel, a 60.4% ratio of commuting by public transportation, a green travel service satisfaction rate of 86.6% and a sidewalk setup rate of as much as 41.8%, and made remarkable progress in improving green travel service.

Furthermore, driven by the green travel campaign, Qingdao has ramped up efforts to promote NEVs to help fulfill carbon peak and carbon neutrality. The public charging service network with a service radius of 2km and the fast charging service network with a service radius of 1km have been basically established in the urban area and the downtown respectively. In addition, Qingdao continues to improve the energy mix of public traffic vehicles. The share of new energy and clean energy-driven buses has increased from 85.2% to 94.2%.   (Zhou Jianliang)
