Every act and every move of Qingdao Liuting International Airport, which was shutdown in August 2021, is in the spotlight.

From May 27 to 28,2023, China’s first airport music festival—Qingdao Action Music Festival kicked off amid loud cheers on the apron of Liuting Airport, adding another influential music festival in Qingdao and even China. 60,000 fans showed up for the two-day music festival, thanks to the all-star lineup of singers, novelty, unparalleled scenario and creativity.

The terminal of Liuting Airport, whose popularity continues to rise, is now transformed into “Wei Lai Yin Chang” (Future Concert Hall).

Situated inside the T1 of the previous Liuting Airport, the “Future Concert Hall” is now China’s largest indoor live music venue, and boasts a cyberpunk-style entrance passage and dazzling stage effects. Since the beginning of this May, the “Future Concert Hall” has housed six performances starring famous artists, ranging from popular music, hip-pop, folk music to ethnic music and each appealing to 3,000 to 4,000 audiences. Upon the launch of a series of performances, it has become an online sensation. In the ranking for leisure and recreation on social media, the Action “Future Concert Hall” has soared by 20 spots in only four days.

“The departure lobby in the previous terminal has been converted into two music venues and one marketplace. Such scenarios and immersive experience are unparalleled across the world. Moreover, the venue is between a Livehouse and a stadium in size, fostering a very friendly environment to newly emerging idols and dancer singers.” Wang Bing, the person in charge of the Action “Future Concert Hall” spoke of the uniqueness of the music venue renovated from the previous terminal. A number of performances starring celebrated signers from home and abroad will be staged as scheduled in the “Future Music Hall” from August to September this year. Shining stars will sing out melodious notes in the previous terminal.  (Zhou Wei)
