Qingdao rolls out ten new policies to boost the development of cinematic economy 2025/5/16 source: International daily Print

In a recently held promotional event for cinematic economy in the Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis, Qingdao rolled out ten new policies to boost the development of cinematic economy. These policies cover creation, shooting and production, distribution and projection among other procedures, and support the entire industrial chain ranging from shooting, production, distribution to derivative and cultural tourism development.

These new policies are intended to support the creation and production of outstanding films. Films that have newly received support from Chinas special film funding will be entitled to financial aid. To support the production in Qingdao, Qingdao will give funding support every year to films that can help bolster the citys image, and social and economic development. Films that choose to make roadshows or premiere in Qingdao will be given awards according to the box-office size. Qingdao will provide incentives for films to contend for national level or provincial level awards, and award-winning films can gain the same amount of financial support as the awards.

Qingdao stays committed to formulating policies to boost the development of the film industry. Since the beginning of 2015, Qingdao has rolled out and implemented many rounds of policies on the film industry, and delivered RMB210 mln in funding support.  (Mi Jingyu)
