Neolix and TELD recently joined hands to launch the world’s first fully automated charging and operations center for autonomous vehicles in Qingdao, which is named Tide Island No. 1. TELD has rolled out the plan to build such a facility in more than 100 cities across the globe.
Positioned as a one-stop fully automated operations hub, the facility named Tide Island can satisfy the needs of autonomous vehicles for fully automated parking, energy filling, cleaning, self-inspection, and operation and maintenance. As a result, such pain points as inefficient manual charging, high-cost operations and maintenance, and scarcity of parking spaces in cities can be well overcome. A single Tide Island can be equipped with 100 parking spaces and fully automated charging terminals, where high-density stereoscopic parking can be achieved. After TELD finishes upgrading its existing network of more than 70,000 public charging stations into “Relay Islands”, one “Tide Island”, combined with 10 “Relay Islands”, can support the efficient operation of 1,200 to 1,500 autonomous vehicles.
Since the beginning of 2025, Neolix has put into use a combined total of 1,200 autonomous vehicles in Qingdao, helping Qingdao to become home to the most number of unmanned vehicles among cities across the globe. (Zhou Xiaofeng)
