The old town venue of the 36th Qingdao International Beer Festival will take place at the Dabaodao Cultural and Leisure Block in Shibei district from July 17 to Aug 15, centered on the theme "Sipping Fresh Beer In Century-Old Lanes, Immersed In The Festive Spirit Of Dabaodao". The venue aims to combine century-old beer culture with the historic district's heritage, creating an immersive beer-themed block.

During the beer festival, the old town venue will integrate streets, local businesses, and public event spaces to create an interconnected festival experience that comes alive both day and night. The north zone, anchored by the beer garden and food street, focuses on a blend of beer, cuisine, performances, and socializing, transforming the area into a lively old-town gathering place with a vibrant street-food atmosphere. The south zone centers on historical courtyard spaces, offering beer culture experiences, cultural and creative products, specialty exhibitions, and leisure activities.

Open spaces such as Boshan Road Plaza and Yizhou Road Plaza also feature welcoming installations and diverse activities including performances, exhibitions, and photo opportunities, creating a multi-layered, easily navigable festival experience where every corner invites exploration.

Shibei district will also introduce new interactive experiences including themed check-ins, role-playing games, street dance competitions, and a vintage tram experience. A highlight is the Dream international cruise ship docking at Qingdao Cruise Homeport, offering China's first "cruise beer festival" static tour package. This includes "one-day round trip light experience" and "overnight in-depth sea tour".

The festival aims to boost the night and holiday economies while enriching Dabaodao with coastal attractions like the cruise port and Xiaogang Bay, offering visitors a unique blend of old town charm and waterfront scenery.
