A three-day Russian Language and Culture Festival at Qingdao Preschool Education College brought Chinese and Russian teachers and students together for academic exchanges, cultural workshops, and artistic performances.

Part of the 2026-27 China-Russia Years of Education, the festival featured more than 10 activities to promote mutual understanding and educational cooperation.

Educators from Qingdao universities and Russia's Herzen State Pedagogical University discussed Russian-language teaching, curriculum development, and opportunities for faculty and student exchanges.

Cultural workshops introduced participants to traditions from both countries. Russian guests organized cultural quizzes and folk craft activities, while Chinese teachers offered hands-on experiences in traditional knotting and pastry making. Students from both countries also explored artificial intelligence, creating digital artworks inspired by their respective cultures.

Performances added another dimension to the exchanges, featuring Jiaodong yangge, a traditional folk dance from Shandong province, Chinese classical poetry, Russian folk songs, and musical collaborations.

The college plans to expand its partnership with Herzen University through joint educational programs, faculty visits, and student exchanges, building on the festival to strengthen educational and cultural ties between the two countries.
