Qingdao exhibitors reported more than $900 million in potential orders at the 140th China Import and Export Fair, commonly known as the Canton Fair, which concluded in Guangzhou on Nov 4.

A total of 970 Qingdao companies participated in the three-phase event, occupying 1,481 booths showcasing home appliances, hardware, household products, textiles, and garments, according to the Qingdao commerce bureau.

Local exhibitors featured innovation and environmentally friendly products prominently. Hisense showcased advanced display and laser projection technologies, while Haier presented AI-powered home systems and household robots. Other companies displayed functional textiles, recycled fabrics, energy-saving glass, and eco-friendly consumer products.

Qingdao manufacturers also highlighted their shift toward original designs and independent brands. Sanlian Lock has expanded its branded products to more than 130 countries and regions, while Deli's local competitor Dianshi Stationery has established a presence in over 50 countries.

Local businesses are also diversifying their export markets and sales channels. More than 30 percent of participating companies have adopted cross-border e-commerce to reach overseas consumers directly.

Qingdao's exports reached 445.5 billion yuan ($62.6 billion) in the first three quarters of 2026, up 10.2 percent year-on-year, reflecting the city's continued export growth.
