A special exhibition area at the 134th edition of the China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, showcases traditional Chinese specialties to promote rural revitalization and expand export markets, attracting many business people from across the globe.
Launched in 1957, the fair is held every spring and autumn in Guangzhou, the capital city of south China's Guangdong Province, and is seen as a barometer of China's foreign trade.
The fair is a great platform for international buyers to hunt for trendy and high-quality products.
Since the 130th edition in 2021, the offline session of the fair has established an special exhibition area for traditional Chinese specialties dedicated to promoting rural revitalization.
Many participating companies have seized this opportunity to present their local specialty agricultural products, leveraging the platform of the fair to expand their reach in the global market.
In the exhibition area for southwest China's Guizhou Province, a total of 18 companies have brought local specialties such as ham, tea, and beef.
The exhibitors have customized innovative agricultural products based on the taste preferences of foreigners, aiming to help traditional Chinese specialties go global. For example, a dipping sauce in the exhibition area, while retaining the original flavor, incorporates walnuts, peanuts, and other nuts to cater to the taste preferences of foreigners.
"We have selected raw materials from local sources in Guizhou, which has also stimulated employment throughout the entire supply chain," said Gong Wei, an exhibitor from Guizhou.
Liu Huifang, an exhibitor from northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has participated in the special product exhibition area for rural revitalization at the fair for the fifth time. This time, she has brought lavender honey and saffron honey from Xinjiang.
"We have brought our highest quality product, which has been very well-received by everyone," said Liu.
This year's rural revitalization special product exhibition area at the fair has attracted 203 companies from over 20 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions.
