Six 8K ultra-high-definition (UHD) live broadcast vans owned by China Media Group (CMG) drove past iconic landmarks in Paris before arriving at the Stadium of France for handover work with the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) on Tuesday morning.
The vans left northern Paris and drove along the Avenue de la Grande-Armée, past the Arc de Triomphe, along the Avenue des Champs-élysées, and past the Eiffel Tower, with overseas Chinese and Parisians capturing the sight on their phone cameras.
"I've been studying here for two years now. I miss my motherland so much. I am super excited to see the red vans today. I took some pictures with my camera, and I feel so good that I want to share them with my friends!" said Li Jie, a Chinese student in France.
"This is a beautiful surprise. Our Chinese friends have come to Paris, promoting the city as the focus of world sports on the occasion of the Olympics. This is wonderful. CMG's broadcast vans have passed by the Eiffel Tower, Champs-élysées, Arc de Triomphe, and more. We are thrilled. This is fantastic. Thank you very much," said a Paris resident named Yaghi Hami.
These live broadcast vans will provide global audience with 8K UHD signals of the Olympic track and field events as well as the closing ceremony.
As a leading broadcaster and the international media organization with the most broadcasting rights for the Paris Olympic Games, CMG is set to orchestrate its largest-scale Olympic Games coverage to date.
CMG's broadcast equipments and supplies transported by sea, land, and air to Paris have all arrived and been commissioned for use.
