The 2024 Qingdao International Water Conference & Expo, sponsored by Qingdao municipal government and held from July 3 to July 5, attracted the participation of more than 700 experts, scholars and entrepreneurs in the water treatment industries at home and abroad.

With the theme “Water, Source of Life and Foundation for Development”, the event prioritized 8 topics and comprised more than 40 sub-venues. Over 450 professional reports as well as 40 technology cases and intellectual properties were issued. With a focus on sea water desalination and utilization of strong brine, water conservation in industry and waste water recycling, membrane science and technology innovation, technological advances of water affairs in urban areas, intelligent water affairs, conservation of water ecology and water environment treatment, and water conservation industry development, the event gathered domestic and overseas think tanks to make concerted efforts to advance innovation in the international water sector.

Prioritizing a sound development of the water industry, the event was designed to put up a platform for cooperation and exchanges between China and foreign countries. Representatives from China, Denmark, the USA, Canada, Britain, Germany, France, Belgium, Spain, Hungary, Greece, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Zambia attended the event and introduced their own country’s sophisticated technologies, successful practices and unique perspectives concerning the water sector. Statistics showed that a total of more than 200 Chinese and foreign experts and scholars shared and presented their technological achievements.

The Qingdao International Water Conference & Expo is an organic integration of meeting and exhibition. Nearly 200 booths with an exhibition area of more than 1,000 square meters were occupied by a number of industry-leading enterprises, which put on display their most cutting-edge technologies and novel products for communicating with their peers and seeking cooperation.  (Geng Tingting)
