Many cities across China have offered fresh experiences to tourists to boost cultural and tourist consumption during the current summer holiday season.
The 34th edition of the Qingdao International Beer Festival opened on Friday in the coastal city of Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province, ushering in a 24-day extravaganza that will run through Aug 11.
Over 2,000 scheduled events, ranging from musical performances and artistic parades to sports competitions designed to entertain visitors, will be held. Meanwhile, Qingdao also launched an innovative combination of the festival and beach camping, which has become a hit among visitors and is emerging as a new hot spot for consumption.
The festival has continuously added new vitality to the local culture and tourism consumption during the summer season.
"The atmosphere here is particularly great now, and it's very lively. I ordered a glass of beer to experience the festive atmosphere with everyone here," said Wei Tianyi, a tourist.
As scorching summer temperatures sweep across many parts of China, escaping the heat by traveling to northern areas has become a popular choice for many people during the summer holiday.
The forest area of Lesser Khingan Mountain in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province has attracted numerous tourists due to its favorable ecological environment and cool weather.
"During my visit to Yichun this time, I think that the ecological environment here is incredibly beautiful. There are mountains, water, and forests. The air is also very fresh, with high concentrations of negative oxygen ion. I feel extremely comfortable," said Mei Meichen, another tourist.
The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link has recorded a total traffic volume of over two million vehicles since its operation on June 30, according to the Guangdong Provincial Department of Transportation.
The link marks the most intricate cross-sea cluster projects with 10 world records. It starts at the Shenzhen airport interchange and connects with Ma'anshan Island in Zhongshan across the Pearl River, shortening the Shenzhen-Zhongshan travel time from two hours to about 30 minutes.
The link has brought an overwhelming influx of tourists to cities on both sides of the Pearl River Estuary in Guangdong Province, and also the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
In addition, a significant growth in overseas traveler numbers has been boosted by new visa exemption policies and convenient payment services.
