QINGDAO -- Airports, railway stations, and ports in Qingdao are experiencing a surge in passenger flow this week, as the tourism market heats up during the students' summer vacation period.
Tourism has seen significant growth in the coastal city of Qingdao, located in east China's Shandong Province. Since July 1, Qingdao Airport has averaged 602 flights per day, marking a 13.8 percent year-on-year increase.
The average daily passenger throughput has reached 83,000, reflecting a 17.4 percent increase from the previous year. On July19, Qingdao Airport's daily passenger count hit 89,300, setting a new record since the airport's opening.
