Multiple measures have been taken in provinces of China like Jiangsu and Guangdong to help migrant workers to return to their posts after the Spring Festival holiday.
In Suzhou City of Jiangsu, efforts have been made to match skilled workers with suitable jobs.
"We dispatched 16 teams around the Spring Festival to provinces such as Henan, Anhui, Hubei, Shaanxi, Sichuan, and Guizhou to carry out labor service coordination, matching workers with positions across various sectors. We hope to attract proper laborers for our enterprises as much as possible and offer more high-quality job opportunities for laborers to choose. We have tried various means to not only attract laborers, but also ensure their retention, growth, and good performance in their jobs," said Zhu Zheng, director of the Suzhou Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.
The province managed to learn about demands of job seekers and employers in various ways like face-to-face visits and online questionnaires. Besides, it also arranged special staff to contact enterprises to ensure the implementation of subsidy policies.
In Guangzhou City of Guangdong, the D1848 train arrived at the Guangzhou South Railway Station from Guizhou province on Monday, bringing 114 migrant workers back to their workplaces.
The city also collected demands of migrant workers in employment and preferred vehicles so as to ensure their smooth return to jobs.
"Our service reflects Guangzhou's warmth and its critical demand for talents. We hope they can regard the city as their 'second hometown,' following their dreams, give play to their wisdom and realize the value of life," said Shao Lei, Shao Lei, deputy director of the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Yuexiu District in Guangzhou.
