A giant panda cub in southwest China's Chengdu Panda base wowed tourists with its gymnastic skills as it worked its way along a high wooden beam using only its arms, with its watchful keeper in close attendance.
The adorable creature was born at the base's Sunshine Delivery House in 2023.
Amazed by its strong grip and great athleticism, many in the audience at the enclosure used their mobile phones to capture every move. The keeper's services were not required as the panda managed to heave its legs on to the beam before it continued exploring its enclosure.
The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is a world-renowned institution for the ex-situ conservation of giant pandas, scientific research and breeding, public education and tourism.
The base is famous for its work in protecting and breeding giant pandas, red pandas and other endangered wild animal species exclusive to China.
