Spring blossoms and scenery are luring Chinese holiday makers outdoors to enjoy the 3-day Qingming Festival holiday, which ends on Saturday.

The Qingming Festival, which fell on Thursday this year, is also known as Tomb Sweeping Day in China, and is a day to pay respects to one’s ancestors and enjoy the first days of spring.
In Hangzhou City in east China's Zhejiang Province, hydrangeas have burst into bloom around the Xianghu Lake, while in Nanning City in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, paperflowers have turned the foot of the Qingxiu Mountain into a sea of color.
Holiday makers in Beijing have been riding on the S2 train from the center of the capital to its outskirts near the Juyongguan Great Wall, where peach and apricot blossoms are in full bloom. Along the route, they pass Qinglongqiao Railway Station, which dates back over 100 years.
"I like to appreciate flowers, so how can I miss the train? When I see the mountain and flowers are combined into a landscape, I feel delighted. Those who haven't come here cannot understand my delight," said Wang Xiuying, a tourist.
In Metok County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, azaleas, together with snow mountains and forest, have transformed the Yarlung Zangbo River, providing a mesmerizing backdrop for holiday excursions. Since the opening of a new expressway to the county, more and more people are able to visit this beautiful part of China.
In Badong County in central China's Hubei Province more than a thousand visitors a day have been coming to admire this village's terraced fields of rapeseed flowers which have burst in to bloom.
In Zhongwei City in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, over 13 hectares of pear blossoms are in full bloom along the banks of the Yellow River, helping to boost the development of local tourism during the holiday.
"Yesterday I came here, but the flowers didn't bloom. But today they are all blooming as if the spring wind suddenly opened the buds over one night. It's really stunning," said holiday maker He Liang.
In Tianjin Municipality, crab apple blossoms and the unique architecture of the Five Great Avenues (Wudadao) have been a popular outing, with events like opera performance and pop-up food stalls keeping people entertained.
"It's the first time for us to appreciate crab apple flowers at the Wudadao. I think the flowers are very beautiful and stunning, full of a lingering charm," said visitor Sun Tiantian.
