11 departments including Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology recently jointly launched the Qingdao Action Plan (2024-2027) for the Development of Humanoid Robot Industry. According to the Action Plan, Qingdao will cultivate 5-8 key enterprises of humanoid robots, and score innovative achievements in core parts and components such as intelligent sensors and decelerators.
As stipulated in the Action Plan, Qingdao will prioritize the “3+2+4” approach for industrial development, pave a more solid foundation for key technologies to make complete products and facilitate the clustering of associated industries. “3” refers to achieving technological breakthroughs in crucial components such as “brains, cerebellum, and limbs”, “2” refers to developing two kinds of complete products, namely, the basic version and the functional version, and “4” refers to building up strength in sensors, actuators, controllers and power sources, four critical components. Qingdao currently has fostered edges in intelligent household appliances and NEVs. The efforts to push for development of humanoid robots will help enhance the presence of Qingdao in intelligent terminal products and therefore accelerate the transformation of affected industrial chains and the entire manufacturing system.
