In the recently-inaugurated 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE), 3,469 exhibitors from 129 countries and regions met in the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). As for the latest CIIE, the Qingdao delegation saw a year-on-year increase of 12.5% in the number of members, comprising up to 1,132 registered enterprises. In the CIIE, the Qingdao delegation made purchase globally while making an all-out effort to attract investment from exhibitors by showing the utmost sincerity.
“Before the CIIE was held, we have made the purchasing list, with a focus on fruit, meat and aquatic product brands.” According to Jia Songtao, vice president of Qingdao Jingkong Group, and deputy general manager of Jingkong International Trade Group, the participation in the CIIE provided an opportunity for both purchasing and learning as they are committed to becoming a first-class comprehensive solution provider integrating the supply chain and the industry chain, promoting foreign trade and upgrading the circulation industry.
The characteristics of the SCO overwhelmed the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), where more than 200 kinds of distinctive products from the SCO member states such as red dates from Iran, chocolate from Mongolia, nuts from Afghanistan, high-mountain tea from Nepal and Turkish beer appealed to many visitors. In coordination with the CIIE, the SCO Demonstration Area has set up a trading platform to help businesses from SCO member states to tap the Chinese market.
While the CIIE was under way, departments and districts (county-level cities organized a continuous stream of visits to establish connection with key exhibitors, and Shanghai-based World Fortune 500 enterprises and global industry-leading enterprises, and to push ahead with key projects through negotiations.
