On October 31, the Qingdao Airport Rizhao Terminal, located in the Business Trip Service Center in Rizhao West Railway Station, was put into operation. This is the second terminal that Qingdao Airport has opened in another city outside Qingdao following the one in Weifang North Railway Station, marking the one-stop seamless connection between aviation and high-speed railway. All tourists who take train in Rizhao West Railway to Qingdao to travel by plane in 24 hours are entitled to one-stop free aviation services in the city’s terminal ranging from check-in, lounging to direct access to Qingdao Airport by high-speed train.
Qingdao Airport is among China’s earliest modern comprehensive transportation hub where no vertical transit involves between air, railway, subway and land transportation. The one-stop combined passenger transport service adopted by terminals of Qingdao Airport in other cities depends on the comprehensive transportation hub which integrates aviation, high-speed train, subway and land transportation, and leads to combined transportation between high-speed railway and civil aviation, setting an innovative example of combined transportation between China’s aviation and high-speed railway.
Qingdao Airport is working hard to advance the construction of terminals in Qingdao North Railway Station, and high-speed railway stations in Zibo, Linyi, Yantai and Weihai, in a bid to build “business clubs” on Jiaodong Peninsula.
