The 2026 Qingdao Venture Capital Conference took place on July 8 in the Qingdao International Convention Center.
In the event, the Qingdao Fund Industry Development Alliance was officially unveiled. The alliance, which has already attracted over 100 institutional members, ranging from state-owned enterprises, leading institutional investors, financial institutions, intermediary service institutions to scientific research institutes, aims to build a platform for the integration of industry and funding that features government-enterprise collaboration and multi-player coordination.
In the summit, Qingdao signed agreements with international investment banking arms of China’s five major state-owned banks, namely, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, the Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, China Construction Bank and Bank of Communications, to inject new impetus into Qingdao’s efforts to improve substantially its cross-border financial services. This is the first time that international investment banking arms of China’s top five state-owned banks have joined hands to seek business presence in a single city. Leveraging the role of Hong Kong as an international financial hub, they will utilize their service capability across all types of business ranging from global IPO, overseas issuance of bonds, overseas merger and acquisition to asset management to open a fast-track channel for high-quality Qingdao-based companies to secure overseas listing, issue bonds for funding, and seek overseas business presence.
